Esri UK, a global leader in Geographic Information System (GIS) software and Akama Fund, a non-profit dedicated to expanding access to higher education scholarships, is thrilled to introduce the Laptop/Tablet fund. This program is aimed at empowering students from diverse backgrounds providing them with access to high quality devices that will support them throughout their studies.
Accelerator Benefits
- Technology Support: Students will be awarded either a laptop or tablet, selected based on their specific academic needs to support their studies.
- Comprehensive Support: All eligible applicants will gain access to mentorship programs, personal development workshops, and networking opportunities.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Accelerator, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (2nd, 3rd or 4th Year) or postgraduate program in Geography, Landscape Architecture, Biology, Archaeology, Earth & Environmental Studies, or related fields in the UK.
- From a Black or Mixed Black background.
- Have a household income below £50,000, evidenced by a means-tested assessment as part of your student loan application.
- Classified as a ‘Home’ student.
- Join the Akama Fund waitlist if you are not eligible for any of the awards.
Students may apply for all awards they are eligible for and reapply in consequent years.
Application Process
- Complete the short online application by October 25th, 2024.
- All eligible applicants will be contacted via email.
- Shortlisted candidates for the technology awards will be notified and invited to a brief interview w/c 4th November.
