The Claremont Interior Design Scholarship is a wonderful opportunity for talented students from Black and Ethnic Minority backgrounds who are passionate about pursuing a career in the design industry. We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the field, and we believe that every individual should have the opportunity to develop their skills and talents, regardless of their background or ethnicity.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Currently studying in the UK on one of the listed interior design-related courses in the application
- Currently in their second year of an undergraduate degree (other students are encouraged to sign up to Akama Fund to be notified of future opportunities)
- From a Black & Ethnic Minority background
- Have the right to work in the UK
- Have a household income below £50,000 evidenced by a means-tested assessment as part of your application for a student loan
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship will provide an award of £1,500 a year for 2 years, plus a paid work placement. Scholars can take the placement as a full year’s placement for a sandwich course.
In addition, scholars will be assigned a mentor who will be one of our young designers, who can support and guide them during their studies and work experience.
Application Process
To apply for the scholarship, applicants will need to complete a very quick online application form. Eligible candidates will then be contacted to provide additional details. If shortlisted, they will be invited to an interview.
Timeline
Applications for the scholarship closed on 19th May 2023. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by 15th June.
